Anne Harbers is an experienced presenter and writer on Art History and Decorative Arts. She obtained her M. Arts from University of Sydney in 2014. She lives part-time in The Netherlands whilst working on her PhD on the 17th century Dutch still-life painter Abraham van Beyeren. She has in the last years attended Continuing Education short courses at National Gallery, London, as well as Cambridge University and a residential at Oxford University, with past art history courses in Dresden and Amsterdam.

She additionally holds an MBA & Masters research degree in Chemistry and worked for 30 years in medical research & international business. She currently works as a university lecturer within the Business faculty at Torrens University, whilst also enjoying teaching art history subjects for adult education since 2017. In recent years she has given three lecture series on Decorative Arts at the Art Gallery of NSW, several lectures to National Trust branches, as well as specialist arts, antiques and literature societies in Australia, Britain, Europe and USA.

Also, a long- time enthusiast for 18th century European decorative arts and English literature, she currently has art history research projects relating to British and European subjects. She has contributed chapters to numerous books on the history of collecting, linking both art and science, within a European historical context. Anne is delighted to extend her lectures to the Academy Travel audience.
